Microsoft Surface | Create & Cultivate Brings Together Female Entrepreneurs and Creative Thinkers

November 4, 2019

>>Create & Cultivate
is a movement for women finding the career
of their dreams. Now we have over a
thousand women here at the Microsoft campus
and they’re all excited to listen to
other like-minded women, network, listen to panelists. The Energy is
unbelievable right now.>>I’m just going to
bring her out, Esther Ray.>>Mandy Moore, come on.>>Hi guys.>>So it’s actually
really hard for us to find other women tech.>>And what other opportunity
do you have do you have where you’re bringing
women from across the world together to actually
have these conversations.>>So, right now, we’re here on the Microsoft soccer fields where we set up part of the area for the Create
& Cultivate conference. We have a VIP lounge,
a beauty lounge, some awesome sponsors who have brought in some really
cool experiences. You write what’s been holding you back on
the piece of glass then you just break it. And behind that
is where they have panel discussions going
on throughout the day.>>Anytime, I mean, you
can get all these women together who have
these experiences, you’re going to have a lot
of things are similar. You’re going to have a lot of
pain points that are separate too. And so it’s really
cool to bring them together and learn
from each other.>>There’s no place in the world where
you have women from all across industries
really talking about how they’re trying
to figure it out too. And I think that makes us all
feel like we’re not alone.>>We also have
a Surface lounge that we set up with all of
our family of devices, for them to come
touch and feel and try them out as well. Sarah has been doing some
awesome calligraphy on paper, so we decided to
give her a Surface to see what she
can do with it.>>It’s nice because my hands have been getting
so stained today. No staining
now. Oh my gosh. That is so much easier.>>We bring our Surface to show our product because
we want to be able to work with it and feel
it, and we’re able to really get in the product.>>I think one of
the common misperceptions about technology,
is that it’s not a creative space,
and then yet it is one of the most creative spaces. We should do more
of this. Getting an opportunity to get outside of the the traditional,
sort of, tech types of events, I think is
really important so we can listen and learn more.>>We hear about all
of this growth in tech and those specific
niche industries, but to see such a large group of female creatives. It’s a really good mix
of perspectives.>>Older bloggers, younger bloggers,
entrepreneurs, business people.>>All of that kind of content together kind
of gets you thinking a lot more.>>Do something that
you’re excited in, follow your passion, and
it will figure itself out.>>And don’t take
no for an answer. Yeah!>>An absolutely
phenomenal day here at Create & Cultivate, here at the Microsoft campus. Amazing panelists including
our very own Megan Saunders. We had Issa Rae, Mandy Moore, Brooklyn Decker, Whitney Casey. I’m so glad we’re able to all team up together
especially us here at Microsoft Surface, and help
foster this conversation.>>Thank you Create & Cultivate,
it’s been amazing.>>Thank you so much
Microsoft for hosting. This is awesome!>>Create & Cultivate is amazing! Thank you so much
Microsoft for hosting.
