Hello there, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding
Guy, for Once a Day Marketing. And I want to thank you again for tuning in and watching
our video advice. I’m hoping it’s providing you with the knowledge and the strategy and
the inspiration to market every day. Now it’s interesting, today’s video advice
comes from my being out in the garden. I was looking at some of my southwest plants and
that inspired my ideas about cultivating and nurturing business relationships. In Santa Fe it’s a bit of a challenge to
grow the perfect garden. We don’t have a lot of water and our soil is not very good.
So to really make the soil thrive we’ve got this product here called Yum Yum Mix.
I’m not sure what’s in it but it’s filled with all sorts of great ingredients that you
put into the soil. The rule is that if you feed the soil the soil will feed the plants. A similar thing is true with developing and
nurturing your relationships. If you create the right foundation and you put in the right
ingredients then you will have these beautiful buds that turn into beautiful flowers. And
that is what building relationships is all about. For Action Wednesday today what I want you
to do is go out into your relationship garden and really begin working it. I want you first
to think about what plants do you want in the garden. What I mean by that is what new
relationships do you want to establish. You’ve got your networking contacts, you’ve got
your business contacts, you’ve got LinkedIn, you’ve got Twitter, you’ve got Facebook.
So you have a lot of opportunity to identify potential plants or new relationships. Then you have to figure out your own Yum Yum
Mix. What are you going to do to augment the soil? What are you going to do to create a
really nice foundation for relationship building. And then like any gardener, when you go into
the garden you’ve got to seek out each individual plant and nurture it and make sure it has
the opportunity to grow right by giving it enough water, enough soil, enough sun and
enough love. So really all you are trying to do today through
your Action Wednesday is just begin working relationships, nurturing the relationships
and see how they grow over time. If you spend time to cultivate and nurture
those relationships you are going to find some great benefits for your business. You
don’t know if those are going to grow quickly or they are going to take a long time. But
they will generate new profits for your business, new partnerships for your business and a lot
